Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep coming coming in February 2018

This is quite exciting for those of you who like Bloodborne!

Titan Comics, who recently worked on Quake, The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus comics, is going to release comics set in the Bloodborne universe in February 2018.

Bloodborne: The Death of Sleep will be written by Ales Kot (who also wrote Generation Gone, Zero), with art by Piotr Kowalski (who worked previously on Wolfenstein, Dark Souls). Story wise, this is what is known: “a nameless Hunter will step forth onto the cobblestone streets of Yharnam on a quest to rid the gothic city of its beasts and unholy aberrations“.

Currently, it is not clear if the comic takes place before, during, or after the events of the game… then again the Bloodborne story is steeped in riddles and obscure storylines anyway; either way, it will be a wonderful read!

The biggest checklist for of inclusive design…. ever!

…ever?? Yes!

A lot of aspects add up to an inclusive web experience. Considerations that might not come to one’s mind in the first place — like the use of inclusive language or providing alternatives or descriptions for complex visualizations.Or, accessible considerations such as providing transcripts for audio content.

To get your site on the best track of becoming truly inclusive, the magical Heydon Pickering has put together an Inclusive Design Checklist. The biggest and most comprehensive one available. It includes items for accessibility, performance, device support, interoperability, and language.

Do check it out!

Really Good UX

Often, it’s the small things that take a user experience from good to memorable. This could be a useful tooltip, a straight-forward registration flow that doesn’t ask for the world, a simple checkout process or a useful way you’re being upsold products.

For UX designers, it is important to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and to stay inspired with examples of outstanding UX.

I came across a site called Really Good UX which is collecting some amazing UX details from around the web and explains what makes them so good. Definitely worth having a look!

Let me know what you think! 🙂

The missions you will see are in order of the main missions:

Freeing Amaru

Armadillo’s Commander and Culta’s Prisoner

Killing La Yuri and El Polito (spoilers)

[4K] For Honor – Open Beta Gameplay

Here I’ve recorded a bit of gameplay from For Honor. I joined the closed Beta a few weeks ago, and then back again this weekend for the open beta. I really enjoyed it, the Open Beta feels a bit more balanced during Duel, but 4v4 feels a bit less “well” balanced compared to the Closed Beta – might just be me, but that’s what I felt.

The Into and Tutorial:

And here is gameplay for Dominion, Duel and War Assets:

About the game: The bloodthirsty warlord Apollyon believes the people of the Knights, Vikings, and Samurai have grown weak and wants to create an age of all-out war through manipulation of each faction. To this end the perspectives of characters within each faction are shown as events are shaped, battles are waged, and agendas are created as Apollyon works to ensure continuous sparks of conflict between the Legion, the Warborn, and the Chosen.

[4K] Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands – Closed Beta gameplay

Here I’ve recorded a bit of gameplay from Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon – Wildlands. I joined the closed Beta this weekend and was thoroughly impressed by it – it runs smooth, it works well in 4K….. I’m looking forward to the release!

The game was recorded on a GTX 1080, 4k, using a very high preset.

About the game: The game is set in Bolivia, which has become increasingly unstable as the Santa Blanca drug cartel gains more power and influence to the point where Bolivia has become the world’s largest producer of cocaine. The rise in power of these drug cartels concerns the United States Government, as Santa Blanca’s influence has begun to spread beyond Bolivia. The last straw comes when a bomb targets the US embassy in La Paz and its intended target, DEA agent Ricky Sandoval, is kidnapped and tortured by Santa Blanca. As a result, the United States Army dispatches an elite special operations unit called “the Ghosts” to destroy the cartel and reveal the connection between Santa Blanca and the local government.
